Jointly Benchmarking Private Healthcare Service in Hong Kong Market

This collaboration marks a significant first step and symbolises the joint commitment of the three parties to provide high-quality medical services for Hong Kong residents and visitors from the Greater Bay Area and surrounding areas.

Ms. Jacquen, KWOK, Co-CEO of UMP, stated in her opening remarks, "Through strategic cooperation, the strengths of our peers can complement each other. This project fully utilises the professional expertise of the Group's medical imaging services, combined with the extensive medical centre network of Human Health Holdings and the strong surgical specialities team of Pedder Healthcare. The synergistic effects of this strategic partnership benefit the investors, clients, and physician friends of all parties involved, as well as the patients. I hope this partnership can go beyond traditional business boundaries and become a model of cooperation in the medical service industry, working together to promote a better medical ecosystem."

The officially opened ProCare Integrated Medical Imaging & Laboratory Centre (Tsim Sha Tsui) is located on the second floor of 26 Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, near the Peninsula Hotel and many famous landmarks. The initial total investment is approximately HKD58 million, jointly invested by UMP Healthcare, Pedder Healthcare and Human Health. The total services area of the centre is over 6,000 square feet, providing comprehensive medical imaging and laboratory services, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scan (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, FibroScan, 3D Mammography, X-ray, Dexa-bone Densitometry and more.

ProCare Advanced Medical Imaging Centre is located in the Bank of America Tower in Central, occupying an area of 5,417 square feet. The investment amount is approximately HKD30 million, jointly invested by UMP Healthcare and Pedder Healthcare. The centre is equipped with a brand-new Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT) scanner, offering PET-CT scanning services as one the few private non-hospital centres in the Hong Kong Island area, serving the needs of the community and supporting patients from the Groups cancer treatment centre within the district. With the centre in operation, UMP Healthcare now provides PET-CT scanning services in both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon areas.

Active investment in more comprehensive and reliable services

Dr. Michael SUN, Vice Chairman and Co-CEO of UMP and Chief Radiologist of ProCare, believes that the medical imaging market is continuously growing. "Medical imaging is important in diagnosing cancer and examining treatment effects. In particular, PET-CT is increasingly used in cancer diagnosis today. The demand for related services is huge, and patients' waiting time for services in public hospitals is long. Scanning referrals to private medical institutions are often necessary to seize the golden treatment time. The Group is actively expanding to meet the needs of referral services, achieving complementarity between public and private medical care."

Dr. Sun further commented, The recent rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is believed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical imaging, enhance doctors' diagnosis and treatment results, and help develop new treatment methods. The Group has actively invested in advanced technology and AI resources to make ProCare's services more professional and reliable."

To achieve the goal of providing "fast, accurate, and professional" imaging services, ProCare Medical Imaging currently employs a number of advanced information technology systems to improve the efficiency and ability of primary physicians to diagnose diseases, including real-time uploading of image files for doctors to access, a point-of-care imaging system to aid in condition analysis and a laboratory information system (LIS) with an express delivery team to ensure timely delivery of test results to doctors and clients, thereby speeding up subsequent diagnoses.

ProCare also plans to open a new medical imaging centre in Causeway Bay in the fourth quarter of this year and is looking for suitable imaging service locations in the New Territories to provide residents in various districts with more convenient, comprehensive, and professional medical imaging services.
