UMP Healthcare Chairman and CEO Dr. Sun Yiu Kwong Donates HK$5 Million to UMP Charity Foundation

First round of donation in the amount of HK$600,000 made to CUHK Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care



UMP Healthcare Holdings Limited (“UMP” or the “Group”; SEHK stock code: 722) is pleased to announce that Dr. Sun Yiu Kwong, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of UMP (“Dr. Sun”), is committed to a donation of HK$5 million to UMP Charity Foundation Limited (“UMP Charity Foundation”), with the first round of donation in the amount of HK$600,000 to be used for healthcare training projects and other strategic research endeavors in conjunction with the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care (“JCSPHPC”) of the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (“CUHK”) in the Greater Bay Area (“GBA”).


The above contribution by Dr. Sun is made to further the objectives stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) entered into between UMP Charity Foundation and JCSPHPC on 21 April 2021. The MOU is a strategic partnership framework between the two parties to promote, among others, the development of an Asia-specific evidence-based medicine training platform for primary care doctors and nurses in the GBA and to improve training.


The donation to JCSPHPC was made in the name of UMP Charity Foundation. UMP Charity Foundation aims to establish innovative primary care-based research and training projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China to further enhance primary care education and training in the GBA.
