For Further Expanding Market Shares of Imaging Services
UMP Healthcare Holdings Limited (“UMP” or the “Group”, Stock Code: 722) is pleased to announce that the Group has taken up the lease of the 2nd floor of 26 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon to open a new ProCare Integrated Medical Imaging Centre (the “New Centre”) in the 1st quarter next year. In addition, the Group spent HK$74 million to acquire some of the latest medical imaging technology equipment. The Group is optimistic about the craving demand for private imaging and laboratory services, and expects that the New Centre and advanced equipment will act as a driving force for the businesses.
The New Centre locates at the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, with a leased area of 7,460 square feet. The New Centre is near the MTR station and Nathan Road bus stops, and is neighbouring the Peninsula Hotel and other popular spots. It is also close to the West Kowloon Station of the Express Rail Link and the China Ferry Terminal, where people who travel between the Mainland and Hong Kong from time to time can conveniently access once the border reopens.
Dr. SUN Yiu Kwong, Chairman and CEO of UMP, said, “The Group expands the imaging businesses in Tsim Sha Tsui because our current service capacity in the district and Jordan are almost saturated. Against growing demand for such services, the Group proceeds with this investment to reinforce the delivery ability. UMP also actively deploys the investment and strategic allocation of adding medical imaging service points in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui to leverage the market trend. I believe the project will bring strong positive cash flow and satisfactory returns on investment and payback periods, driving the demand for the Group’s specialist medical and body check services.”
In addition, the Group recently spent HK$72 million to equip new medical devices from GE Healthcare, including digital PET, MRI and CT scanning equipment. The new equipment gear existing centres, new centres and specialist clinics to strengthen the point-of-care imaging system, enhancing the ability to diagnose and analyze diseases.
