Our Story & Milestones
The Story of UMP
Our founding chairman, Dr. Sun Yiu Kwong, started his first clinic in Tsuen Wan in 1971. Back in those days, At that time, Hong Kong's medical services were limited, particularly in the private sector. While many private doctors focused on serving affluent districts, Dr. Sun chose to establish his clinic in the new town of New Territories, where labor workers and families were in great need of healthcare services.

Driven by his mission to improve health through compassionate and holistic family medicine, Dr. Sun's vision guided every step of UMP Healthcare's growth. In 1979, he expanded his services to provide corporate healthcare in Tsim Sha Tsui. In 1990, Dr. Sun, along with a group of doctors, established "United Medical Practice" (UMP) and embarked on a journey of expansion throughout Hong Kong. Over time, the clinic chain grew and eventually evolved into UMP Healthcare, which was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2015.
Today, UMP Healthcare has emerged as one of the largest and most trusted integrated healthcare providers in the city. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including primary family medicine, specialist consultations, medical imaging, day surgery, and wellness programs. However, our commitment goes beyond simply providing services. We are dedicated to making quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all individuals. To achieve this, we actively collaborate with insurance companies, corporations and other medical groups, forging strategic partnerships.

As we move forward, we embrace cutting-edge technologies and remain true to our founding desire: to transform healthcare for the better and enhance people's well-being at every stage of life. We strive to bridge gaps, break down barriers, and tirelessly fulfil our promise of providing the care needed for a better quality of life. Our commitment extends to communities not only in Hong Kong and China but also beyond.
